OUR SERVICES
Obstetrics and Gynecology
We offer a unique approach to obstetrics and gynecology services by providing individualized comprehensive care for females of all ages – From teenagers with painful and irregular periods, to expectant mothers, to women facing the challenges of menopause.
Although our approach is founded in a traditional OB/GYN care model, we also offer group visits, natural remedies, massage, relaxation training, acupuncture, nutrition, supplements, bioidentical hormones, and exercise to treat a variety of conditions. Instead of treating a particular disease, we address each patient individually. We seek to restore the mental, physical, psychosocial and spiritual imbalances that may be resulting in conditions such as infertility, PCOS, menopause, depression, insomnia, weight problems, PMS, fatigue, pelvic pain, endometriosis and other conditions that could be affecting health and wellness.
Our patients undergo a thorough assessment of their lifestyle, health history, diet, occupation, exercise habits and family history. Treatments are individualized and take into account the patient’s desires and preferences. Through attentive and individualized advice and support, we cultivate personal relationships by listening to each patient’s needs and concerns and providing them with the information and tools to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Many of our patients have commented that our approach is both refreshing and comfortable. Most importantly, this approach is evidence based and results in better outcomes than traditional models of care.
Internal Medicine
As an internist I provide individualized comprehensive care for BOTH men and women of all ages (generally 16 years and older). Whether it’s a 23 year old school teacher with thyroid problems, a grandmother with a urinary tract infection, an adolescent cheer leader with intermittent diarrhea and stomach pain, a truck driver with high blood pressure and cholesterol issues, a retired plumber with heart problems, or a stay-at-home mom with fatigue and weight gain, we are equipped to handle it.
Many medical problems are the result of pathologic processes that develop slowly over many years. When we are young, our organs can withstand a significant amount of abuse from unhealthy lifestyle choices–we can often eat poorly without gaining weight, smoke without developing lung cancer, and so on. As we age, our life choices catch up to us and we lose this resilience (organ reserve), making us more susceptible to disease. However, we can modify how quickly we undergo this process of “biological aging” through changes in lifestyle, environment, and nutrition. It is recognized that 75% of our health and life expectancy after age 40 is modifiable on the basis of these choices. This is the reason we are so passionate about prevention and about “lifestyle medicine.” It is exciting to be able to intervene early (or even later) in the process and alter its course for good. Better yet, teach healthy lifestyles to our young people and make an even greater impact.
Although our approach is founded in traditional internal (and family) medicine, we tend to offer more aggressive screening and lab testing in order to identify risks at an earlier stage of progression and achieve more effective intervention. We also offer natural remedies, massage, relaxation training, acupuncture, nutrition counseling, supplements, bioidentical hormones, and exercise to treat a variety of conditions. Instead of treating a particular disease, we address each patient individually. We seek to restore the mental, physical, hormonal, psychosocial and spiritual imbalances that may be resulting in conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, depression, anxiety, insomnia, weight problems, fatigue, muscle aches, and other conditions that could be affecting health and wellness.
Family Medicine
Being a board certified family practice doctor, I THRIVE on developing lasting relationships and treating the WHOLE FAMILY at any age. I have the capability of managing all spectrums of disease/ condition/symptoms and have the full knowledge of knowing when to refer pts to specialists only when necessary.
An integrative holistic family practice doctor means I use all my medical skills but with a heart, compassion and a sense of connection with nature and spirit. Here, we can combine multiple therapies, with the goal of enhancing the patient’s optimal health as a whole person-body, mind and spirit. We prevent and treat disease by addressing contributing factors, not just by throwing unnecessary medications at you, focusing mainly on prevention.
Studies show that 80% of all chronic illness visits to primary care practioners are stress related. Evidence based studies have shown the true healing power of connection, as all have shown to decrease stress. Our practice places a huge emphasis on developing a real connection with the patient by getting a sense of you, your life and your goals.
With stress reduction and lifestyle medicine, we seek to restore the mental, physical, hormonal, psychosocial and spiritual imbalances that may be resulting in conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, depression, anxiety, insomnia, weight problems, fatigue, muscle aches, and other conditions that could be affecting health and wellness. We also offer natural remedies, homeopathy (see below), massage, relaxation training, acupuncture, nutrition counseling, supplements, and exercise to treat a variety of conditions. Instead of treating a particular disease, we address each patient individually.
A typical appointment is begun with smiles, laughter and then a full, in depth assessment of your health history, family history, lifestyle, diet, occupation, relationships, exercise and sleep habits. Then treatments are individualized and take into account your desires and preferences.
Through attentive and individualized advice and support, we cultivate personal relationships by listening to your needs and concerns and providing you with the information and tools to make an informed decision about your health and well-being. Together we develop a negotiated medical treatment and lifestyle medicine action plan that will inspire and encourage you towards positive behavior change. All questions are more than welcomed and will be answered in as much detail as you would like. Alternative treatments can be discussed, as I am certified in homeopathy and am now currently in the process of a certification in integrative holistic medicine. This evidence based approach results in better outcomes than traditional models of care.

Stress Reduction
We’ve probably all felt stress. Sometimes it is brief or situational. But sometimes stress is persistent and complex. When there is too much stress for an extended period of time individuals may feel out of control, fatigued, unable to concentrate or generally irritable. Prolonged stress may also compound any emotional problem and can affect ones physical health with related illnesses and disease.
The good news is that people can learn to effectively manage stress and develop healthier patterns that increase their resistance to the harmful effects of stress.
Physicians HolisticHealth Alliance offers stress management consultations specifically tailored to an individual’s needs. In addition, stress management group sessions and classes are offered at PHA.
Mental & Emotional Health
Lifestyle Medicine employs a care philosophy that combines relaxation-response techniques, nutrition, exercise and cognitive-behavioral therapies with standard medical practices. This comprehensive approach to health care helps patients achieve a significant reduction in physical and psychological symptoms.
For many patients, health and well-being depends on their ability to change unhealthy or high risk behaviors. At PHA our focus is on helping our patients understand and appreciate a comprehensive view of health as it is influenced by multiple factors. In addition to using medication for the more serious symptoms, we assist the patient to gain awareness of the underlying factors so that cognitive and behavior changes can be made which mitigate or eliminate the symptoms. This process of bringing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parts of oneself together leads to integration and balance in one’s life and optimal health and well-being.
The process of change is more complex than simply providing information or instruction. The process taps into one’s motivation, life goals, and the courage to be the best one can be. PHA offers individual as well as group counseling sessions to enhance individuals understanding and coping strategies, reduce mood disturbance, increase self-esteem and self-efficacy and ultimately adopt new health promoting behaviors.
Food Allergy Testing
Have you ever considered that your health problems may be related to food allergies? Common symptoms include fatigue, food cravings, recurrent ear, nose and throat infections, bowel and stomach problems (including reflux), cardiovascular symptoms (like arrhythmias), skin problems (including acne, eczema and psoriasis), arthritis, migraines, asthma and general inflammation.
Most of these problems can have more than one cause, but food allergy is a relatively common and frequently overlooked element. Why just manage the symptoms when you can eliminate the cause?
