What’s Involved in a Pain & Bleeding Work-Up?
Typically, there are 2-3 appointments with a provider in addition to medical testing to “work up” a suspected diagnosis based on the symptoms you are experiencing.
Initial Appointment: At this intake visit, Sara Arbogast, NP will discuss your concerns and take a thorough history. Labs and tests will likely be ordered at the end of this initial evaluation.
Testing & Physical Exam: This will include
-
bloodwork,
-
a pelvic ultrasound to evaluate your uterus and ovaries,
-
and a pelvic exam.
Follow-Up Appointment: At your next appointment with Sara, she will
-
Explain your lab results
-
Explain your ultrasound results
-
Explain the implications of your pelvic exam
-
Discuss your diagnosis
Next Steps Consult: Once you have a working diagnosis, you will meet with OB/GYN Specialist, Dr. Uthman Cavallo—who has over 20 years of experience successfully helping women break free from the grip of pain and bleeding and reclaim their lives.
He will walk you through the pros and cons of different treatment options, empowering you with the knowledge you need to make choices that are best for you.
