FOR STRESS REDUCTION:
Yoga Therapy is an approach that integrates yoga postures (physical movement) with emotional support.
This therapeutic approach empowers individuals to develop a deeper awareness of their physical, mental, and emotional health. If we can develop a greater awareness of the entire self, we can address issues more holistically.
These yoga practices can shed a new light on what we have the ability to control, empowering us with more tools to combat ongoing anxiety and depressed mood.
Mental Health providers frequently refer their clients to yoga programs and a therapeutic approach to yoga plays a unique interdisciplinary role with other treatment modalities.
Our goal is to provide a safe and compassionate group atmosphere where participants can privately reflect and experience a deeper mind/body connection.
This is an opportunity for you to sample Yoga Therapy in a small group setting.
As you explore your physical, mental, and emotional layers, you will have the opportunity to reflect upon and journal what you encounter along the way.
(Please bring a yoga mat and a journal.)
In these sessions, Roxie Sweikar, MSW, E-RYT will lead you through breathing exercises, yoga postures, and meditation with an emphasis on the energy channels in the body.
Being that these are group sessions, the instruction will be general and applicable for everyone present. If you wish to explore your discoveries further, you may arrange individual Yoga Therapy sessions with the instructor.
